Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to support warehouse operations involving the movement, storage, and documentation of raw materials and finished goods. This role requires experience with forklift operations and a solid understanding of inventory processes. You will play a key part in ensuring timely and accurate material handling in support of production and operational efficiency.
Job Description
- Receive incoming production and non-production materials: verify lot numbers, quantities, and purchase order details
- Inspect shipments and report discrepancies or damages against packing slips and purchase orders
- Perform data entry and receiving tasks in SAP (as backup to Purchasing & Inventory Technician)
- Organize and maintain storage areas in multiple locations (e.g., main warehouse, cylinder docks, trailers)
- Move raw materials from the quarantine area to approved storage locations and update SAP records accordingly
- Transport materials safely between buildings and designated storage areas using forklifts or pallet jacks
- Maintain a steady supply of materials in designated locations for production access
- Support inventory control activities: count items, perform recounts, and resolve inventory discrepancies in SAP
- Ensure all storage and inventory areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained
- Follow safety protocols and operate all equipment (including forklifts) in a safe and efficient manner
- Complete assigned tasks and training requirements as directed by supervisors
Skills Required
- Forklift experience required
- Familiarity with SAP or other inventory control systems (SAP experience a strong plus)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience handling or working around compressed gases or hazardous materials is a plus
Education
- Highschool diploma or GED
Additional Requirements
- Shift: M-F 7AM - 3:30PM
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards
- Basic understanding of chemical storage protocols
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
