Job Summary

We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to support a chemical manufacturing facility in Sugar Land, TX. This role partners closely with plant leadership and employees to deliver HR solutions that enable safe, compliant, and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive manufacturing environment and capable of balancing both strategic and day-to-day HR responsibilities. 

 

Job Description

  • Provide daily HR support to employees and leadership within a manufacturing environment
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning
  • Support core HR processes such as annual merit reviews, bonus administration, and organizational changes
  • Partner with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and plant leadership to reinforce safety policies and culture
  • Analyze workforce data using Workday (headcount, turnover, trends) and develop actionable insights and reporting
  • Support recruiting activities in collaboration with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers, including onboarding for hourly and salaried roles
  • Manage employee relations matters, including documentation and corrective actions as needed
  • Interpret and apply HR policies in compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements
  • Execute HR transactions in Workday, ensuring data accuracy and compliance
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to HR programs, benefits, and policies

 

Skills Required

  • 1–3 years of Human Resources or related experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing/plant environment
  • Must be authorized to work without sponsorship; relocation assistance is not available

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, chemical, industrial, or plant-based environments
  • Experience supporting hourly workforce and shift-based operations
  • Familiarity with Workday HRIS
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Demonstrated adaptability and ability to navigate ambiguity and change

 

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree required

 

Additional requirements

  • Schedule notes: 1st shift - 8am-5pm or 7am-4pm
  • Onsite role within a chemical manufacturing facility
  • Safety-sensitive environment requiring adherence to strict policies and procedures
  • Collaborative setting involving plant leadership, EHS, and cross-functional teams

 

Pay rate

  • $30 - $35 per hour (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
