Job Summary

The Tool Crib Technician supports production operations by maintaining, repairing, and organizing tools, equipment, and materials within a high-precision manufacturing environment. This position involves mechanical, technical, and organizational responsibilities to ensure production teams have the necessary tooling and components to maintain operational efficiency.

 

Job Description

  • Polish tooling using a lathe
  • Mold various parts for robot end-of-arm tooling
  • Operate 3D printers and related additive manufacturing equipment
  • Maintain and organize tooling inventory for production manufacturing
  • Use work order travelers to stage and track tooling for production jobs
  • Perform dimensional inspections of parts (e.g., diameter checks)
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair defective assemblies
  • Rebuild and maintain mechanical assemblies and production tools
  • Read blueprints and identify mechanical components accurately
  • Maintain critical spare inventory for production facility equipment and perform regular inventory counts
  • Operate surface grinders to resurface or repair damaged tooling
  • Operate hydraulic presses for press-fit assemblies
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • 3rd shift: 11:30pm - 8:00am

 

Skills Required

  • No prior tool crib experience required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measurement tools
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes preferred
  • Additional training (NEST) provided in the Houston area
  • TWIC card is beneficial for expedited ATF processing but not required

 

Education

  • Highschool diploma or GED

 

Pay Rate

  • $22.50 per hour and $2 shift differential for 3rd shift

 

Additional Details

  • Initial training conducted on 1st shift prior to transition to 3rd shift
