Job Summary

We are looking for individual to join our client’s team as Ultrasound Technologist. You will perform sonographic exams as per departmental protocols and ARDMS

 

Job Description

  • Attends and complies with all scheduled departmental meeting, staff in service and trainings.
  • Provides all services in a professional manner while maintaining a good inter personnel relationships with staff and patients.
  • Assists and directs patients in preparation of examination (change into gowns and getting patient on / off examination tables).
  • Identifies patient’s identity and exam order for appropriate procedure.

Performs all examinations according to ARDMS.

  • Always ensures patient safetyand reports any possible risks to appropriate staff.
  • Performs visual equipment inspections to ensure optimum exam quality and safety.
  • Maintains examination rooms stocked and clean
  • Performs infection control protocols according to departmental and institutional standards.
  • Documents and completes patient exam demographics in a correct and timely fashion.
  • Provides verbal instruction to patients regarding procedures.
  • Maintains all patients’ information (confidentially) according to HIPPA compliance standards.
  • Reports all examination discrepancies to Radiologist, Dept head and providers as needed.
  • Utilizes departmental communication (telephone/paging systems/ computers) according to HHC regulations and d departmental policy.
  • Correct any error with archival of examinations in a timely fashion
  • Informs Department in the event of a lateness or absence before scheduled tour begins
  • Maintains Customer service expectation according to Network standard
  • Maintain Sonographic equipment by scheduling PM's and calling for service when needed
  • Ensures proper documentation of exams and patient identification in PAC
  • Employs the appropriate marking of anatomical image.
  • Maintains infection control logs as per DOH and ARDMS

 

Skills Required

  • One-year General Registered Ultrasound experience.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Associate degree (Community College, MBO)
  • Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by American Radiologic Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required.
  • ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
  • BLS preferred.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Malpractice Insurance - All clinical workers are required to have active individual Medical Malpractice.  A copy must be provided prior to start of assignment. All clinical workers licensed by the state of NY are required to provide.
  • Schedule Notes: 8:00 AM-04:00 PM; Rotating weekends is a requirement, and workers must report as scheduled including holidays. Please see the shift time, hours per week/day on the request and ensure your worker will be able to commit to the schedule provided by the facility.

 

 Pay Rate

  • $67.00 per hour
