Job Summary

We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as Clinical laboratory Technologist. Under direction, with very broad latitude for independent judgment and decision making, supervises, trains, assigns work to, and evaluates work performance of personnel in a small laboratory or laboratory sub-unit performing routine and complex clinical laboratory tests and analyses. In addition to performing the typical tasks of lower Assignment Levels at a higher level

 

Job Description

  • Maintains a program of quality control and participates in a program of quality assurance.
  • Advises staff on appropriate methods and techniques.
  • Oversees the ordering and maintenance of laboratory supplies and equipment as well as the preparation, packaging, labeling, and standardization of laboratory media and reagents; and records results and pertinent data of prepared products or oversees this function.
  • Prepares labels, packages, and standardizes laboratory media, reagents, controls and specimens for use in analyses.
  • Prepares work orders for laboratory repairs.
  • Assists in developing and revising laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Conduct tests and/or other complex analyses. |
  • Designs and maintains charts, logs, and other records.
  • Testifies in court or other proceedings as an expert witness.
  • May prepare correspondence and narrative/statistical reports.
  • May participate in or supervise the preparation, administration, and rating of laboratory proficiency test programs.

 

Skills Required

  • At least 2-3+ years of experience
  • Blood bank experience

 

Education/Training/Certifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Valid license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist issued by NYSED

 

Additional Requirements

  • Shift: will be nights and M-F with rotating weekends

 

 Pay Rate

  • $50-59 per hour, based on experience, skills, and market factors
