Job Summary
We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as Senior Accountant. This role is a critical member of the accounting team, responsible for being a key member in month-end close, consolidation, financial reporting and analysis, lease accounting, and ensuring compliance with GAAP, SOX controls, and internal policies. This role is critical in handling higher complex technical accounting matters, financial reporting, and analysis. Job Description
Core Duties Summary (% of Time)
- Month-End Close & Consolidation (40%)
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, intercompany eliminations, and account reconciliations across multiple entities. Ensure accurate and timely month-end close procedures.
- Financial Reporting (25%)
- Prepare financial statements, related footnotes, disclosures, and supporting analysis for the reporting group.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration (10%)
- Partner with FP&A, legal, and operations teams to support business initiatives and ensure proper accounting alignment.
- Project-Based Work & Process Improvement (10%)
- Support ERP system upgrades, business initiative financial analysis, training, and the creation or maintenance of standard operating procedures.
- Audit & Internal Control Support (10%)
- Coordinate with external auditors by providing schedules, documentation, and audit support during interim and annual audits.
- Technical Accounting Research & Analysis (5%)
- Research and interpret complex accounting issues and new standards, including ASC 842, ASC 360, ASC 810, ASC 606, ASC 470, and related pronouncements.
Skills Required
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in high-growth retail or healthcare environments.
- Experience with multi-entity and/or consolidated financial statements.
- Strong general ledger management and cost allocation experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards (ASC 842, ASC 810, ASC 360, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Great Plains, or similar).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, nested formulas, pivot tables, advanced charting, PowerPivot).
- Experience with accounting and reporting tools such as Trintech, GTreasury, Workiva, BI360, or similar.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment with competing priorities.
Preferred:
- Experience with SOX compliance programs and documentation.
- Experience preparing financial analyses and presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
Education/Training/Certifications
- Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Required: CPA or CPA Candidate
