Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in supporting and enhancing elastomer manufacturing processes. This position partners closely with production, quality, safety, and engineering teams to ensure efficient operations, high product quality, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in elastomer manufacturing and thrives in a continuous improvement environment.
Job Description
- Develop, implement, and optimize elastomer manufacturing processes, including compression molding, injection molding, extrusion, mixing, and curing
- Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis methodologies
- Create and maintain process documentation such as work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), control plans, and PFMEAs
- Provide day-to-day technical support to production teams, troubleshooting equipment and process-related issues
- Define, validate, and maintain process parameters to ensure product consistency and compliance with specifications
- Support tooling design, trials, and qualification for elastomer components
- Specify, validate, and maintain elastomer processing equipment including mixers, extruders, molding presses, and curing ovens
- Lead or support capital equipment projects, including justification, procurement, installation, and validation
- Identify and implement new technologies to improve process efficiency, material flow, curing performance, and product quality
- Support safety initiatives by identifying risks associated with high-temperature processes, chemical handling, and press operations
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to elastomer materials and curing agents

- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within an elastomer or rubber manufacturing environment
- U.S. Citizenship required (due to ITAR regulations)
- Proven ability to support and optimize complex manufacturing processes
- Experience working in cross-functional teams within production environments
Education
- Highschool diploma or GED
Pay Rate
- $85,000 - $115,000 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
Additional Requirements
- Preferred: Aerospace industry experience and familiarity with ITAR requirements
- Preferred: Knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems
- Preferred: Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
