Job Summary

We are looking for individual to join our client’s team as Certified Medical Coder. You will be responsible for accurately coding medical records in an acute care setting, ensuring compliance with all coding, payor, and federal billing guidelines. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency with coding systems, and experience with both inpatient and outpatient cases.

 

Job Description

  • Perform medical coding in an acute care setting.
  • Possess proficient computer skills (e.g., MS Word, Excel, ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, Encoder).
  • Apply knowledge of coding guidelines, payor guidelines, and federal billing regulations.
  • Demonstrate understanding of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
  • Research and resolve coding-related issues as needed.
  • Provide coder training and serve as a resource for coding staff.
  • Utilize 3M/HDS coding applications effectively.
  • Perform coding for both outpatient and emergency department (ED) cases.

 

Skills Required

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience.
  • Proficient in ICD-10 coding.
  • Experience with EPIC and 3M systems is required.
  • Candidate with both in/out-patient coding experience will be ideal. 

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Diploma/GED, AHIMA, RHIA or RHIT and/or CCP, CCS.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Shift: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM

 

 Pay Rate

  • $38.00 per hour
