Winding coil on machine or directly into slots of rotors, stators, and armatures, and winding tape around coils by hand to insulate coils

Job Description

• Winding coil on machine or directly into slots of rotors, stators, and armatures
• Winding tape around coils by hand to insulate coils
• Cutting and forming sheet insulation to fit slots
• Inserting coils into slots and pounds to compress and shape windings
• Painting coils with insulation varnish or enamel
• Using brazing equipment consisting of induction, resistance, or torch
• Obtaining critical measurements and creating wiring and blokcing diagrams
• Cleaning and preparing coils before winding
• Safety risk: High voltage, mechanical lifting, machinery

Skills Required

• 2+ years of winding experience
• Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occassionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to work overtime hours and shift work when needed
• Have good interpersonal skills, an inclusive working style, and are able to effectively communicate
• Mechanical skills
• Technical skills: Hand tools, measurement tools
• English-proficient
• Power Generation Industry, any mechanically based industry
  

Education/Training/Certifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Additional Requirements

• Working conditions: Shop environment
• Work Hours: Mon to Fri, 6:30 am - 4:00 pm (OT goes at 5:00 pm)
  • OT on weekends is common

Pay Rate/Salary

• $18.00 - $20.00/hr. depending on experience
