Job Summary

The Driver Compliance Specialist (FMCSA) is responsible for ensuring that commercial motor vehicle (CMV) operations comply with all applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. This role primarily monitors driver qualifications. The specialist plays a critical role in maintaining safety standards, reducing risk, and supporting regulatory compliance across the organization.

 

Job Description

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date driver qualification files (DQFs), including CDL, medical certificates, and MVRs.
  • Create driver compliance reports for Terminal distribution.
  • Review company driver and Owner Operator applications for FMCSA compliance.
  • Assist in preparing for DOT audits and respond to compliance reviews.
  • Track and manage safety performance metrics using FMCSA’s Safety Measurement System (SMS).
  • Liaise with legal teams and regulatory agencies as needed.

 

Skills Required

  • Knowledge of FMCSA regulations (49 CFR Parts 382, 383, 390-399).
  • Experience in transportation safety, compliance, or fleet management.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Proficiency with compliance software and fleet management systems.
  • Excellent communication abilities.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Degree or G.E.D
