Job Summary

The Mechanical Technician Trainee supports maintenance and production operations by ensuring timely equipment readiness and improving maintenance efficiency. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with mechanical aptitude who are eager to learn and grow in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

 

Job Description

  • Tear down, clean, and service oilfield tools (wash bay, power washing, disassembly)
  • Use basic hand tools such as drills and grinders
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and assist in problem-solving activities
  • Maintain equipment in accordance with maintenance programs and reliability strategies
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, parts usage, and labor in maintenance systems
  • Support efforts to reduce downtime and improve equipment turnaround time
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency
  • Assist in failure investigations and repair processes as needed
  • Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures
  • Shift: 1st shift, 7am - 5pm M-F and every other weekend required

 

Skills Required

  • Minimum 1 year of work experience (entry-level candidates welcome)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
  • Familiarity with hand tools and shop equipment
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook)
  • Experience with maintenance systems is a plus
  • Forklift or crane experience is helpful (recertification provided if needed)
  • Team-oriented environment with collaborative, interdependent tasks

 

Education

  • Required: High school graduates with mechanical aptitude are acceptable.

 

Additional requirements

  • Training provided on-site
  • Industrial setting supporting maintenance and production operations
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to perform manual labor including standing, lifting, and tool operation
  • PPE provided: Hard hat and standard safety glasses

 

Pay rate

  • $19 - $22.50 per hour (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
