Job Summary

This role provides support for laboratory and field research by assisting with the mass rearing of multiple insect species. This role supports insect colony maintenance, greenhouse activities, laboratory experiments, and field research while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and ISO standards.

 

Job Description

  • Support mass rearing of multiple insect species for laboratory and field research.
  • Maintain insect colonies, including feeding, cleaning cages, and diet preparation.
  • Perform greenhouse-related activities.
  • Assist with laboratory experiments.
  • Support field research activities such as data collection, weed removal, and infestation trials.
  • Follow and maintain ISO Quality Management Standards.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures.
  • Work in laboratory and potential field environments in compliance with safety requirements.
  • Communicate effectively within a global, fast-paced, and multicultural work environment.

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Biology, agriculture, or laboratory experience required.
  • Experience working on a farm, with livestock, insects, or animals (e.g., zookeeping) preferred.
  • Academic laboratory experience is considered a strong fit.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass a drug screening.
  • Work Schedule: 8:00 AM
  • Ability to pass a physical examination and pulmonary fit test for respirator use.
  • Willingness and ability to wear PPE as required.
  • Ability to work in both laboratory and field environments.

 

Pay Rate/Salary

  • Estimated Salary: $22.24 to $30.24 per hour based on qualifications.
