Job Summary

The Associate Electrical Engineering Technician helps develop high-quality 2D/3D engineering deliverables by drafting one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and other substation details. This role focuses on creating and modifying electrical design drawings using industry-standard CAD tools such as Autodesk Autocad and Bentley Microstation.

 

Job Description

  • Stay current on applicable standards, systems, document control practices, departmental guides, and BV policies and procedures
  • Apply knowledge of the BV Quality Program to ensure accurate, compliant deliverables · Demonstrate strong attention to detail while supporting continuous improvement and change management initiatives
  • Use and expand applications and tools to evaluate and improve methods, processes, and procedures
  • Create and develop project deliverables based on a variety of design inputs
  • Perform basic computations, including material quantity estimates and dimensional checks
  • Coordinate deliverables with other project groups to minimize errors and interferences
  • Support internal client needs while developing an understanding of external client priorities and drivers
  • Proactively seek out, share, and apply knowledge of new technologies and evolving processes

 

Skills Required

  • Typically a minimum of 2 years related work experience.
  • General knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with industry standard design tools, including Autodesk Autocad and Bentley Microstation.
  • Ability to perform technical tasks under general supervision.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Diploma or Certificate required. Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
