Job Summary
We are looking for individual to join our client’s team as Certified Nursing Assistant. You will be responsible for the care of patients according to their individual plans, unit routines, and hospital policies. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
Job Description
- Provides direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or Licensed Nurse, consistent with policies and procedures of the unit.
- Responsible for direct day-to-day care of assigned residents/patients including dressing, bathing, transporting and feeding.
- Documents care provided as directed in a manner consistent with guidelines.
- Maintains patients’ environment/work area/equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department/unit personnel.
- Complete and maintain required number of CNA educational hours.
- Participation in select unit quality monitoring activities under the direction of the Unit Manager or Nurse Leader.
Skills Required
- Skilled facility and long-term care experience required.
- Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
- Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge is preferred.
- Ability to move or lift patients and equipment.
Education/Training/Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a State of Michigan–approved CNA Training Course
Certifications / Licenses:
CNA Certification (CRT-Nursing Assistant)
- Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs (Bureau of Community and Health Systems)
- Required upon hire or within 90 days (varies by site: RNCs such as Cedar, Kentridge, Leffingwell, Reed City, Greenville, Pine Ridge; Lakeland 120 days upon hire)
Driver’s License (LIC-Driver’s License – State of Michigan)
- Required upon hire for Hospice/Caring Circle Hospice roles
- Exception: Hanson Hospice Center and Greenville/Reed City CNAs (only if transporting patients off-site)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
- AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross)
- Required within 90 days of hire
- Required for Hospice roles (including Hanson Hospice Center)
- Excludes some Hospice/Circle Hospice roles depending on assignment
Additional Requirements
- Shift: 06:30am - 7pm
- Shift length: 12 hrs
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
- Scrub Color: Maroon
Pay rate
- $21-$24 per hour, based on experience, skills, and market factors
