Job Summary

The Storekeeper is responsible for executing product and material handling activities within the warehouse while ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and safety standards. This role supports the efficient movement, storage, and tracking of inventory. The Storekeeper inspects and accepts incoming shipments, maintains accurate inventory records, and fulfills material requests to support operational needs.

 

Job Description

  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping within the warehouse and shipping/receiving areas.
  • Inspect, label, receive, store, pick, pack, issue, dispose, and cycle count inventory items.
  • Accept supplier deliveries and verify that received items match packing lists and/or purchase orders while ensuring items are in satisfactory condition.
  • Report discrepancies with deliveries in a timely manner.
  • Ensure outgoing inventory items are properly packed and issued with accurate documentation.
  • Improve warehouse efficiency and safety by optimizing bin locations and storage practices.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts and assist with periodic physical inventory counts.
  • Support materials management initiatives including kitting and Kanban point-of-use replenishment.
  • Investigate and resolve warehouse or inventory issues as requested by the supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment following training and certification.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Shift: 1st shift: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday - Friday, weekends as needed
  • Shift: 2nd shift: 12:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m

 

Skills Required

  • Minimum 2 years of warehouse or material handling experience or a closely related role.
  • Experience operating multiple types of forklifts (sit-down, side loader, stand-up reach, man lift, Flexi articulated forklift).
  • Comfortable working at heights up to approximately 23 feet.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially during repetitive tasks.
  • Reliable, engaged, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to rotate between assignments such as goods receipt, inventory control, and picking.
  • Lift up to 70 lbs from floor to knuckle and floor to waist level on an occasional basis.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to shoulder level on an occasional basis.
  • Carry up to 70 lbs for at least 5 feet on an occasional basis.
  • Comfortable operating equipment and working at heights up to ~23 feet.
  • Ability to work in hot warehouse environments.

 

Education

  • Highschool diploma or GED

 

Pay Rate

  • $21 - $22 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
  • $2 Shift differential

 

Additional Details

  • Experience using SAP or other MRP systems.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Forklift certification is not required prior to hire; training and recertification will be provided. Existing certifications are a plus.
