Job Summary

As an Electrical Estimator you are to analyze blueprints to determine wire lengths as well as suitable outlet placement based on electrical codes. Determining the amount, type, and cost of materials and fixtures needed for each electrical project. Determining the amount of labor required to complete each project.

 

Job Description

  • Manage electrical projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Conduct detailed and accurate electrical estimates for projects of varying sizes and complexities.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, allocating resources effectively to meet project milestones.
  • Oversee the selection and management of subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and address any issues that may impact the timeline, cost, or quality of the project.
  • Collaborate with the sales team, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to determine project costs and develop competitive bids.
  • Prepare and submit detailed and organized bid proposals to clients within specified deadlines.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess work progress, safety compliance, and quality standards.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the most favorable terms and pricing.
  • Provide leadership and direction to project teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, market conditions, and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and clients.

 

Skills Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating and/or construction project management.
  • 5 years experience in relation to estimating or project management and prior Procore Construction Software experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry best practices.
  • Experience with estimating software and project management tools.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead project teams.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar is a plus
  • Procor Experience:
    • There can be some flexibility around it. Prior software experience (specifically around creating commercial bids) is definitely something they want to see. If it is not Procore specifically then we can discuss

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Degree or Equivalent

 

Additional Requirements

  • Computer & Cell phone to be provided.
  • Project Location(s): Anywhere in US. Will NOT be required to travel to any job site. This position is strictly working out of their Hamilton office. 

 

  • Pay Rate/Salary
  • Starting at $38 - $40 /hr depending on experience. Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skill set and / or location.
