Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead and deliver complex capital projects and multi-year programs within engineering-driven industries. This role is responsible for managing projects and portfolios with total values up to $10MM USD, ensuring successful execution from early study phases through design, procurement, and construction. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, technical coordination, and stakeholder management skills in global, matrixed environments.
Job Description
- Lead an integrated project team for high-complexity projects valued up to $10MM USD
- Manage a portfolio of 8–10 medium- to high-complexity projects across multiple phases, from concept through construction
- Oversee multi-year programs (3+ years) with total investment costs up to $10MM USD
- Manage phased project execution spanning multiple years while maintaining cost, schedule, and quality targets
- Coordinate with global and local engineering and construction firms across all project stages, including: Front-end development and detailed design, procurement and contract management,
- Scheduling, cost control, and quality assurance, Construction oversight and safety compliance
- Develop detailed project schedules, cost estimates, and execution plans
- Identify integration points across complex projects and ensure alignment across teams and functions
- Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle
- Partner with procurement and legal teams to establish labor and service contracts
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and project execution standards
- Lead projects autonomously while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders
- Shift: 8am - 5pm M-F
Skills Required
- 7+ years of experience managing capital projects up to $10MM USD within industries such as specialty chemicals, petrochemicals, or refining
- Proven ability to lead projects independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong experience working with engineering, procurement, and construction partners
- Stakeholder management
- Risk identification and mitigation
- Project planning, scheduling, and cost control
- Knowledge of construction practices, constructability, and safety procedures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work effectively in global and multicultural environments
- Experience navigating complex organizational structures to drive project delivery
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience managing automation and digital projects (e.g., DCS, PLC systems)
- Program management experience with multi-year initiatives
- Background in production, operations, or manufacturing environments
- Experience working with SAP
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Pay Rate
- $45 - $55 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
