Job Summary

We are looking for individual to join our client’s team as Pharmacy Technician. Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician assists in the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications, as well as maintaining drug inventory. Performs all duties in accordance with Federal, State, and local laws, as well as institutional policies and pharmacy regulations.

 

Job Description

  • Rotate assignments and work shifts to support departmental needs across hospital units and satellite pharmacies.
  • Receive, store, return, and deliver medications, medication carts, and supplies to various hospital areas.
  • Accurately perform medication dispensing and preparation under pharmacist supervision.
  • Operate pharmacy equipment safely, including automated dispensing systems, and perform basic troubleshooting as needed.
  • Support sterile compounding or IV preparation under direct supervision, if applicable.
  • Maintain accurate records of medications and transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control standards.

 

Skills Required

  • Minimum of 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience, including acute care, Emergency Department (ED), or psychiatric units.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under time constraints.
  • Experience with pharmacy dispensing systems.
  • Experience with sterile processing or IV compounding is preferred or required depending on the role.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be a licensed Registered Pharmacy Technician in New York State (NYSED).
  • Primary Source Verification of license and registration required from the NYS Department of Education.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Schedule Notes:  3:30 PM-12:00 AM; This schedule is every weekend (2 days off Tues/Wed or Wed/Thurs)
  • Training will be for 2 weeks, from 9a-5p, including the EPIC class.

 

 Pay Rate

  • $27 - 32.50 per hour and more, based on experience, skills, and market factors.
