Job Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of materials within the facility. This role supports daily warehouse operations by picking, packing, preparing, and shipping products while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Job Description
- Follow all workplace safety and product quality policies and procedures
- Read and interpret production schedules, customer orders, and shipping documents
- Pick, pack, audit, and prepare orders for shipment, including oversized or irregular items
- Transport materials between receiving, storage, and production areas
- Sort and store items in racks, shelves, or bins based on product specifications
- Assemble and stage customer orders on pallets
- Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments (palletized and non-palletized)
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (manual and automated)
- Open containers and verify incoming materials
- Accurately record quantities of materials received or distributed
- Weigh and count items to ensure compliance with company standards
- Enter and maintain data in warehouse management systems
- Mark and label materials with identifying information
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support inventory control and reconciliation activities
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to meet operational goals
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Shift: 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Skills Required
- 5–10 years of material handling or warehouse experience
- Proven history of reliability and consistent employment
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership
- Ability to read and interpret warehouse management system data
- Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Ability to stand, sit, see, and hear continuously
- Frequent walking, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to climb stairs and work on concrete surfaces
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (0°F to 120°F)
- Exposure to noise requiring hearing protection and environments with dust or dirt
- Ability to operate a computer and communicate via phone and written methods
- Occasional travel between locations may be required
Preferred:
- Forklift certification
- Experience handling oversized or irregular shipments
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
Pay Rate
- $23.50 - $29.50 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
