Job Summary

The Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, interpreting, and documenting customer and stakeholder business needs to translate them into clear application and operational requirements, use cases, and test cases. This role serves as a key liaison between internal business units, vendors, and software development teams to ensure that business objectives are effectively supported through technology solutions.

 

Job Description

  • Collaborate with project managers, executives, business leaders, market participants, developers, testers, training specialists, UX teams, and subject matter experts to elicit and clarify business and project requirements.
  • Use a variety of methods—including interviews, workshops, document analysis, process mapping, and scenario modeling—to gather and refine business requirements.
  • Analyze and measure the effectiveness of existing business processes and recommend sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable improvements.
  • Develop business process documentation, workflows, and task definitions in partnership with project management teams.
  • Assess current and emerging technologies to create detailed functional specifications, use cases, and test cases.
  • Facilitate the implementation of requirements across all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical capabilities.
  • Drive the design and review of test cases based on requirements to ensure complete and accurate testing coverage.
  • Identify, report, and help resolve issues and obstacles that may affect project timelines or outcomes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on business analysis best practices within the organization.
  • Manage multiple concurrent initiatives, prioritizing resources and deliverables to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Apply sound judgment and creativity to solve complex business problems and optimize return on investment.
  • Stay current on emerging trends, tools, and industry best practices in business analysis and process improvement.

 

Skills Required

  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in business and technical analysis.
  • At least 2 years of experience in project management roles preferred.
  • Proven ability to conduct detailed requirements gathering, documentation, and validation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing and documentation.
  • Broad-based business acumen with experience in financial or operational analysis and team leadership.

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field required.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or CCBA (Certification of Competency in Business Analysis) preferred.
