Job Summary
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and reliable Product Service Delivery (PSD) to customers. This role focuses on ensuring product quality, supporting fluid design and additive selection, and identifying opportunities to improve service delivery. The technician works closely with internal teams and maintains communication with client support laboratories, operating locations, product centers, and knowledge repositories.
Job Description
- Ensure all job deliverables are accurate and completed on time
- Perform quality assurance testing on products prior to service delivery
- Prepare detailed laboratory reports for wellsite operations
- Support advanced additive selection and fluid design processes
- Maintain laboratory equipment in clean, safe, and working condition
- Ensure proper disposal of laboratory waste
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with required standards
- Perform risk assessments before each task to identify and mitigate safety or quality concerns
- Participate in Service Quality Meetings and contribute to performance improvement plans
- Assist Design/Technical Engineers and Product Champions with technical support
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain communication with Client Support Labs and operational teams
- Follow all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
- Complete and maintain all required safety training
Skills Required
- Willingness and ability to work 12-hour shifts, including rotating day and night schedules
- Experience working in a chemical laboratory environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Education
- Minimum: High school diploma or Associate degree
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a technical or science-related field
- Open to entry-level candidates (trainees) as well as experienced laboratory technicians
Pay Rate
- $16.50 - $21 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
Additional Details
- Shift: 7/2 – 7/4 (day / night rotation), 12-hour shifts
