Our client is a rehabilitation hospital where patients go to improve their condition after experiencing a medical condition such as a stroke, spinal cord injury, amputation, or brain injury. The leadership at this facility is well established.

Job Summary

We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as Cook. You will play a crucial role in providing nutritious and appealing meals for patients and staff. Responsibilities typically include preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, following dietary guidelines and safety protocols, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Job Description

• Apportion servings according to menu combinations or orders for patients.
• Follow menus, recipes, and oral instructions in the preparation of various foods.
• Serve appropriate portion sizes based on menu specifications.
• Plan timing of preparation of the food to ensure food satisfaction.
• Ensure satisfaction regarding taste, texture, temperature and appearance.

Skills Required

• Possession of a food handler's permit, if mandated by state or county regulations.
• Training in food preparation for therapeutic diets preferred.
• Recent institutional cooking experience and special function cooking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety guidelines preferred.
• May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or night shifts if needed.
  

Pay Rate

• $21.00 per hour
