Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Entry-Level Shipping/Receiving Clerk to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations by receiving, inspecting, storing, and shipping products accurately and efficiently.
Job Description
- Coordinate Seed Movement: Assist the coordination and enable timely seed movement from Woodland to various global destinations, ensuring alignment with shipping priorities.
- Ensure Compliance: Maintain knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and documentation to ensure all shipments comply and prevent delays.
- Streamline Shipping Processes: Implement strategies to enhance shipping efficiency, reduce last-minute requests, and develop contingency plans to ensure continuity of operations.
- Establish Relationships: Build relationships with logistics providers and county officials to ensure favorable shipping terms.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure proper documentation of shipments, including invoices, packing lists, and shipping labels, and archive records for compliance and audit purposes.
- Assess and Mitigate Risks: Identify potential shipping risks and develop plans to address issues that may impact delivery timelines or compliance.
Skills Required
- Experience: Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain roles, preferably within an agricultural or R&D setting.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with international shipping regulations, compliance requirements, and customs procedures.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities to address challenges and devise contingency plans for potential shipping delays.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of shipping documentation and compliance.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, inventory, and compliance.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and evolving shipping needs in a dynamic environment.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass drug screen & criminal background check.
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
Pay Rate/Salary
- Estimated Salary: $14.12 to $22.12 per hour based on qualifications.
