Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to support daily shipping, receiving, and inventory operations. This role is responsible for preparing products for shipment, receiving and verifying incoming materials, maintaining accurate records, and operating material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

 

Job Description

  • Prepare and ship products according to shipping orders and customer requirements.
  • Complete bills of lading and all required shipping documentation accurately.
  • Package, wrap, and secure materials using appropriate packing materials to ensure safe transport.
  • Interpret packing specifications and determine appropriate container sizes based on equipment dimensions, drawings, and measurements.
  • Verify package contents against shipping orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Address, label, and accurately weigh packages for shipment.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and obtain required receipts from carriers.
  • Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely and efficient shipments.
  • Receive and identify incoming materials, supplies, and products.
  • Verify incoming shipments for accuracy, quantity, and condition against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Document and report discrepancies, shortages, or damaged materials to the appropriate personnel.
  • Record inventory receipts into the computer system using barcode scanners and inventory tracking tools.
  • Print and apply barcode labels to received materials as required.
  • Assist with inventory control and material organization within the warehouse.
  • Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, hoists, and pump trucks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including shipping, receiving, and received goods areas.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse operating standards.
  • Assist with additional warehouse and logistics duties as assigned.
  • Shift: 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm Monday-Friday

 

Skills Required

  • 1–3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or inventory-related roles.
  • Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using inventory management systems, barcode scanners, or warehouse software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and inventory handling.
  • Ability to read shipping documents, packing specifications, and purchase orders.
  • Good organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team environment.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle materials throughout the workday.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment and operating material handling equipment.

Preferred Skills

  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience with inventory control and warehouse management systems.
  • Familiarity with barcode scanning and shipping documentation processes.

 

Education

  • High school diploma or GED

 

Pay Rate

  • $16 - $20 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
