Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AW Dev Ops to support the transition of legacy applications and infrastructure to modern Windows Server environments. This role focuses on migrating applications, services, and dependencies within an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) environment while ensuring minimal disruption and strong alignment with business and technical requirements.

 

Job Description

  • Support migration of applications from Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2019/2022
  • Migrate IIS-hosted applications, Windows Services, and associated components
  • Assist with SQL Server migration considerations, including: Connection strings, Instances and configurations, Data dependencies
  • Evaluate and migrate message queue technologies (MSMQ or similar)
  • Document current-state architecture, migration processes, and post-migration configurations
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps, development, and infrastructure teams
  • Identify migration risks, compatibility issues, and recommend remediation strategies
  • Troubleshoot issues during and after migration to ensure system stability
  • Shift: 8am - 5pm M - F

 

Skills Required

  • 8+ years of experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with IIS administration, configuration, and application migrations
  • Proven track record of migrating workloads between Windows Server versions (legacy to modern)
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Windows Services
  • Practical knowledge of SQL Server (connection strings, permissions, service accounts)
  • Experience with message queuing technologies (MSMQ, IBM MQ, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft technologies (e.g., .NET framework)
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and Active Directory
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams
  • High attention to detail with a structured, methodical approach
  • Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as TeamCity and Octopus Deploy
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and tools (e.g., Azure, Terraform)
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration
  • Understanding of enterprise change management processes
  • Awareness of security best practices in infrastructure and application migrations

 

Education

  • High school diploma required

 

Pay Rate

  • $50 - $61 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
