Job Summary
If you're interested in an Entry Level Laboratory Assistant job, then this is the best role for you! This position performs routine testing on samples in the Analytical Services laboratory to support process control, quality control, product development, and waste management.
Job Description
- Perform routine analytical testing per protocols and work instructions.
- Work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Request additional work to support team productivity.
- Prepare solutions, clean glassware, and manage waste to support lab operations.
- Train others on waste management procedures.
- Alert leadership to sample integrity issues, safety concerns, supply shortages, and testing discrepancies.
- Communicate troubleshooting opportunities in testing processes.
- Conduct basic preventative maintenance and report equipment issues.
- Operate LIMS, CDS, and instrument‑specific computer systems.
- Search databases for test methods, specifications, and standards.
- Accurately record, calculate, and report analytical results.
- Review analytical data and LIMS reports.
- Communicate and discuss issues with team members and supervisors.
- Enter data for metrics and KPIs; identify and suggest process improvements.
- Assist with updating procedures and implementing continuous improvement projects.
- Communicate testing results to customers; notify leads when supplies are low.
- Follow safety and housekeeping practices; participate in safety programs and initiatives.
- Maintain knowledge of RCRA hazardous waste regulations and respond appropriately to spills or leaks.
Skills Required
- Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail with ability to assess outcomes against standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot typical instrument problems independently and assist others.
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills to maximize lab productivity.
- 3+ years of laboratory experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of HPLC and GC operation (preferred).
Education/Training/Certifications
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a drug screening and criminal background checks
- Work Shift: 02:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- The role requires working eight‑hour shifts with rotation every three to four months.
- The Quality Control Lab operates 24/7 across three shifts.
Pay Rate/Salary
- Estimated Salary: $13.52 to $21.52 per hour. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors.
