Job Summary

The Data Specialist is responsible for preparing, processing, and delivering high-quality data products for petrophysical, geological, and borehole reservoir applications. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and secure handling of digital datasets throughout the full data lifecycle, from loading and quality control to final packaging and delivery.

 

Job Description

  • Load digital data and perform quality checks to ensure data integrity prior to processing
  • Prepare and process datasets, including depth matching, splicing, merging, and other data editing techniques
  • Conduct data enhancements such as basic image processing, log normalization, and dip picking (as applicable)
  • Generate final data composites from interpreted datasets in accordance with project or organizational requirements
  • Manage digital data storage, organization, and lifecycle processes
  • Coordinate secure data transmission via physical delivery methods or web-based platforms
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of all delivered data products
  • Collaborate with technical teams (e.g., petrophysical, geological, and solutions teams) to meet project requirements

 

Skills Required

  • Experience working with technical or scientific datasets preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Familiarity with data processing techniques and tools (e.g., data merging, normalization)
  • Ability to manage multiple datasets and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with industry-specific software or data platforms is a plus

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

 

Salary

  • $22 - $24 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
