Job Summary

We are looking for individual to join our client’s team as Certified Medical Coder to focus on inpatient coding in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will accurately code inpatient medical records, ensure compliance with federal, payer, and facility coding guidelines, and support coding quality and accuracy within the organization.

 

Job Description

  • Medical coding in an acute care setting
  • Utilize coding systems and tools, including ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT-4, and encoder software
  • Knowledge of coding guidelines, payor guidelines, federal billing guidelines
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology & disease processes.
  • Ability to research coding related issues
  • Competence in coder training

 

Skills Required

  • Three years’ experience Knowledge of ICD10
  • Inpatient and ED experience
  • Must have EPIC and 3M experience
  • Ideal candidate has both inpatient and outpatient coding experience
  • Must have previous experience working with Clinical Documentation Specialists

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • CCS or CCP certification required -  must be from AHIMA, RHIA or RHIT

 

Additional Requirements

  • Shift: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
  • Work Arrangement: Starts onsite for training, then transitions to remote work once duties are mastered.

 

 Pay Rate

  • $32–$38 per hour, based on experience, skills, and market factors
