Job Summary

If you're interested in an Entry Level Scientist job, then this is the best role for you! This position supports cell therapy development by performing cell culture and bioreactor operations focused on embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). The role also includes general mammalian cell culture activities, media preparation, data management, and laboratory maintenance. The objective is to generate high-quality experimental results while maintaining compliance, accuracy, and operational readiness in a laboratory environment.

 

Job Description

  • Collaborate with a team of scientists to support cell therapy and biologics projects.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and follow verbal and written procedures accurately.
  • Perform aseptic techniques for culturing iPSCs, ESCs, and CHO cell lines.
  • Execute cell thawing, passaging, and harvesting for cell therapy and monoclonal antibody production projects.
  • Conduct basic analytical tasks such as cell counts and monitoring metabolites and gases during passages.
  • Set up bioreactors, perform inoculation, and conduct daily sampling.
  • Perform feeding adjustments and probe calibration as required.
  • Prepare media, feeds, and solutions required for bioreactor and mammalian cell culture processes.
  • Accurately record and transfer experimental data into appropriate databases.
  • Perform daily and monthly laboratory maintenance, including cleaning biological safety cabinets (BSCs) and incubators.
  • Conduct daily equipment calibrations to ensure compliance and operational readiness.

 

Skills Required

  • Proficiency in basic aseptic techniques and fundamental laboratory skills (e.g., accurate pipetting).
  • Experience in mammalian cell culture, including work under a laminar flow hood.
  • Familiarity with analytical methods related to cell culture processes.
  • Ability to prepare solutions and media for mammalian cell culture.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree is optional.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass a drug screening and criminal background checks
  • Standard working hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • Maintain availability for occasional weekend and evening work as required.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends and evening hours.
  • Previous work experience with ESC and/or iPSC cell culture is preferred.

 

Pay Rate/Salary

  • Estimated Salary: $40.94 to $48.94 per hour. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors.
