Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong technical and project execution skills to support a gas processing operation. In this role, you will take ownership of the complete lifecycle of key mechanical equipment from design and specification through commissioning and ongoing maintenance. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable standards.

 

Job Description

  • Specify, select, procure, commission, and maintain mechanical equipment in accordance with project and process requirements.
  • Ensure all pressure vessel and piping designs meet industry codes, including ASME Section VIII, Division 1 and ASME B31.3.
  • Collaborate with Process, Electrical, and Controls teams to design, install, and commission new systems safely and efficiently.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for rotating equipment, providing guidance for troubleshooting, reliability improvements, and maintenance planning.
  • Support project management functions, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and documentation.

 

Skills Required

  • 10+ years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or chemical processing environment.
  • Strong understanding of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (Section VIII, Div. 1) and Process Piping (B31.3).
  • Demonstrated experience with rotating equipment and other industrial mechanical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Proven hands-on troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience in industries focused on environmental sustainability, biogas, renewable energy, or waste treatment.
  • Working knowledge of commercial agreements and customer relations preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

 

Additional Requirements

  • Direct design or operational experience with centrifugal blowers, oil-flooded screw compressors, and/or industrial mixers.
  • Experience in project engineering or project management, including cost and schedule control.
  • Familiarity with gas processing, oil and gas, or chemical manufacturing.
  • Military technical background a plus.
  • Knowledge of industrial gas systems and pipeline safety preferred.
