Job Summary

Seed Technicians support all aspects of seed production and processing, including indoor and outdoor activities related to seed handling, field operations, equipment operation, and seasonal production needs.

 

Job Description

  • Perform indoor seed processing and packaging tasks such as receiving, scanning, cleaning, treating, sorting, labeling, and warehousing seed.
  • Carry out outdoor activities including planting, pollinating, note-taking, data entry, and hand harvesting.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment in assigned areas.
  • Collect electronic data in field and laboratory settings using PCs and handheld devices.
  • Organize, move, and store seed while maintaining inventory accuracy using electronic inventory systems.
  • Perform tasks that may require bending, lifting, and long periods of sitting or standing.
  • Work extended hours during peak seasons as needed.

 

Skills Required

  • 4-6 Years of Experience
  • Ability to understand verbal and written task and safety instructions in English
  • Basic mechanical ability and understanding of equipment operation and troubleshooting
  • Experience with MS Office, Excel, and standard computer/software systems
  • Ability to work accurately and follow SOPs and safety requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive or physical tasks

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and / or related experience may be required. 

 

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check
  • Shift: 07:00 AM
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons
  • Ability to adhere to all site safety requirements and SOPs
  • Capability to perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods

 

Pay Rate/Salary

  • Estimated Salary: $20.35 to $28.35 per hour based on qualifications.
