Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional individual to join our client’s team as Clerical Assistant. This position provides essential clerical and administrative support, requiring strong organizational skills, exceptional customer service, and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, patients, and executive leadership.

 

Job Description

  • Performs clerical functions relating to the admission, treatment, discharge and transfer of patient assigned to the unit.
  • Maintains patient’s medical record in an efficient order, including the posting of current reports to medical record or scanning information on discharge.
  • Enters admissions, transfers and discharges in Census Log. Reviews for accuracy, appropriate services, codes, dates and time.
  • Replenishes supplies/forms as needed
  • Maintains excellent customer service skills
  • Answers telephones and patient’s call bells including screening calls and relaying messages.
  • Enter work request on the computer for telephones for repairs, equipment, medical and surgical supplies, and stationery.
  • Assist in the direction and control of personnel and visitor traffic through the department.
  • Prepare memos, unit council meeting reports, and maintain board daily.

 

Skills Required

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior medical office experience and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge in: ICARE
  • EPIC

Preferred:

  • Excel/Spreadsheet
  • Customer service
  • Good communication skills

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; college coursework or degree preferred.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Schedule Notes: 4pm - 12am

 

Pay Rate

  • Up to $26.00 per hour depending on experience
