Job Summary
The Materials Handler is responsible for supporting daily warehouse and production operations by moving materials, issuing parts, and ensuring accurate handling and traceability of inventory. This role plays an important part in keeping production processes running efficiently by supplying workstations with required materials and assisting with shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
Job Description
- Move materials from machines and workstations as part of the production process
- Issue and transfer parts required for production operations
- Assist the Production Planner and assembly stores team when needed
- Offload and unload incoming trucks
- Pick, pack, and kit materials for production or shipment
- Prepare and manage shipping documentation and small parcel shipments (UPS, FedEx, DHL)
- Handle parts carefully while maintaining full traceability (e.g., serial numbers and heat numbers)
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move materials safely
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing and warehouse processes
- Perform various warehouse duties as needed to support operations
- Shift: M-F 7AM - 4PM or 8AM - 5PM with potential weekend work
Skills Required
- Basic computer proficiency (Excel, email, and inventory systems)
- Minimum 2 years of warehouse or manufacturing experience
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Customer service experience is beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Safety-conscious mindset and adherence to safety protocols
- Forklift operation experience preferred (certification can be obtained in-house)
- Bilingual Spanish is preferred but not required
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
Pay Rate
- $20 per hour (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
