Prasad & Company LLP is seeking Junior Tax Accountant to join our team.

Junior Tax Accountants are mentored by senior tax accountants and assist/provide support for tax engagements. This is ideal for a professional looking to specialize in tax.

Junior Tax Accountants are recent graduates from accounting programs or individuals who display exceptional technical skills that fit in well with our values and firm culture.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, file and print T1 files.
  • Assist in Notice of Assessment projects.
  • Preparation of T3, T4, T5.
  • Revise step letters and tax memos.
  • Generate and update tax project tracking reports and transfer updates to software.
  • Maintain organization of T1 files and related client documents.
  • Scan documents, receipts, slips, etc., as required to complete client tax files.
  • Manage the return of documents to clients after taxes have been filed.
  • Provide administrative support to the senior members of the tax team.
  • Update tax templates as new templates become available (when needed).
  • Create “DT” portal accounts for clients, upload and download documents.
  • Participate in weekly tax meetings and collaborate with tax team on streamlining processes.
  • Liaise with Canada Revenue Agency and relevant provincial ministries on client issues.
  • Correspond with team members and clients in response to specific corporate tax queries.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Professional and clear communication skills; verbal and written.
  • Experience in completing US Tax filing is an asset.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgement / discretion, and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Tax Cycle is an asset.
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure and handle stressful situations.
  • Minimum 1-year of personal tax preparation.
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping is required or equivalent related experience.
  • Must be able to work longer/extended hours in March and April, which may include some weekends.
