Job Summary

The Construction Planner is responsible for supporting construction planning and execution activities, including constructability reviews, development of construction execution plans, staffing and resource planning, and preparation for site mobilization. The position coordinates construction planning activities to help ensure work is executed safely and efficiently in accordance with project schedules, contract requirements, specifications, and governing codes through mechanical completion, commissioning, and start-up.

 

Job Description

  • Develop and support the implementation of construction execution plans.
  • Provide constructability input during engineering and design activities, including modularization.
  • Support construction planning, staffing, and resource requirements prior to site mobilization.
  • Coordinate construction activities and planning requirements with contractors and project teams.
  • Develop and maintain construction plans in alignment with project schedules, contract specifications, and governing codes.
  • Monitor construction progress and identify planning requirements that may affect project execution.
  • Support planning activities associated with mechanical completion, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Support change management and site contract administration related to change orders.
  • Coordinate with construction leadership and contractors to support successful project execution.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety throughout construction planning and execution activities.

 

Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of construction planning and execution.
  • Experience developing construction execution plans.
  • Understanding of construction sequencing, constructability, and modularization.
  • Experience with construction staffing and resource planning.
  • Ability to coordinate construction activities with project schedules and execution requirements.
  • Knowledge of construction subcontractor contractual and commercial terms.
  • Experience supporting change management and change order administration.
  • Understanding of construction requirements, contract specifications, and governing codes.
  • Strong coordination and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining safety throughout construction planning and execution phases.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Degree or GED
